Private Midwife & Lactation Consultant in London.
Empowered preparation for birth and beyond. Less like a traditional NHS midwife, more like your knowledgeable older sister.
You’ve read the books. You’ve Googled all night. You’ve attended the antenatal classes. And, despite all the effort, you’ve come away with more questions than answers. That’s where I come in.
I’m Miranda, a private midwife and lactation consultant in West and South West London. I’ve also spent over a decade working within the NHS maternity system.
If you’ve left appointments feeling lost because you needed more time, answers, or reassurance, then that’s exactly what you’ll get with me.

I want more for you than just a healthy baby. I want you to look back on this chapter — the birth, the feeding, the brain fog — and actually recognise yourself in it.

Where I stand.
To get the best midwifery and lactation support, you shouldn’t have to choose between going it alone or hoping the NHS sees you as more than just another number.
That’s why I’m here to bridge the gap, providing additional private midwifery support that doesn’t replace your NHS care but ensures continuity, evidence, and someone steady in your back pocket, throughout your entire parent journey.
The bottom line is this: You deserve to feel heard, prepared, and genuinely looked after throughout your pregnancy. Whether you’re expecting your first or navigating your next pregnancy, I’ll meet you where you’re at, with prenatal and postnatal support built entirely around you.
How I'll support you.
Think of me as that crafty bumper in the bowling lane. I’m here to stop your brain from rolling straight into the gutter of what everyone else thinks your pregnancy and birth should look like.
I’m not here to steer your pram for you, but when things start to veer off course, you’ve got me to help you find your own way back.
I’ll never tell you strictly what to do. I will present you with the evidence and options, and be that someone in your corner while you decide what’s best for you and your baby.

How you choose to feed your baby is entirely your decision, and never something you should be guilted, judged, or pressured into.
My approach as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is non-judgemental, realistic, and fully tailored to what you’re actually trying to achieve. Not what the books or anyone else says you should want.
Why work with a private midwife who understands the NHS from the inside?
Compassion.
A healthy baby matters, but so does your experience of becoming a parent.
Credibility.
Every recommendation I make is grounded in the latest evidence rather than opinion. I’ll always tell you why, not just what.
Choice.
I believe that knowledge opens doors. That’s why I’ll never make decisions for you. Instead, I’ll make sure you have what you need to make them for yourself.
Curiosity.
I never stop learning, questioning, or adapting. Why? Because your care shouldn’t be based on what was true ten years ago.
